Session, recap…
Rob’s blazing sword of light cast long strobing shadows over the room as Tyrintino backs up and combat flares. Deflecting Rob’s radiant light blade and shaking off the bone splintering coral blast from Gobi’s Lemurian Bio-armor, the combat is thrown into chaos as Viktor fires a smoke arrow into the center of the room. Coughing and spluttering, Tyrintino’s forces follow through on their standing orders and rush to engage and shutdown the troop before things escalate further. Ricky was first to move and emerge from the smoke, kicking Robert’s legs out from under him and drop-tackling him to the ground with expert skill. Despite Robert’s superhuman strength, Rick had gotten lucky and was able to offset the Sea Titan’s leverage and turn his own strength against him. Pinned and unable to defend himself, Rob was powerless as three identical women in short green dresses lunged from the smoke and engaged Gobi in hand to hand combat, although their first flurry of blows prove useless against the bio-tank. Gobi’s retaliation is swift and brutal, shattering one of the girl’s skulls and tearing her bodies apart like so much tissue paper. A fate soon shared by her two companions as the dark passenger within Spray&wipe dismembered the two remaining women with ruthless efficiency.
Back across the room, Ricky exposed Roberts side to the lashing of Mercedes’ plasma whip and though great swathes of flesh charred black and bloody, the Sea Titan was able to use the pain to break free of Ricky’s grip and turn the tide of the battle in their favor, scattering the remaining enemy forces throughout the smoke cloud. In an effort to lessen the bloodshed, Gobi pleaded with Tyrintino from beyond the roiling cloud but his cries fell on deaf ears and were met with no reply. Breaking the silence, Viktor took a shot at Mercedes within the cloud, approximating the position of her head by the silhouette created from light of her plasma whip. Although miraculously she survived, she lost a big chunk of her ear and was critically wounded. Moments later, rattled by the smoke and the sound of gunfire Natasha emerged from the cloud, suddenly and without warning finding herself at the mercy of the troop. Alone and seeing her former entourage scattered about the scene and those who remain intact being skinned alive by Spray&wipe, Natasha surrendered and was ferried off the battlefield by Viktor.
Meanwhile on the other side of the smoke, Robert was trying to find Tyrintino but had discovered that the former Chicago Network crime boss had withdrawn into the safety of the yellow security chamber. However, Robert’s peace was short-lived for he was soon joined by Ricky and Mercedes who had accidentally followed him earlier when everyone scattered. Unafraid of the Sea Titan and seeing him cornered with what was surely a mortal injury, Ricky pressed the attack a second time in the hopes of pinning him again so Mercedes could finish the job with her plasma whip. However, this time Rob was ready and he retaliated by backhanding Ricky into a nearby wall with the force and speed of a mack truck, shattering all the bones in his arm and rupturing most of his internal organs and lapsing into a death coma. Horrified by the strength and power of Rob combined with the blood loss she had experienced, Mercedes curled into a fetal position and cowered in silence. Seizing her whip for himself and attempting to goad the woman to attack (believing her fear to be rouse), Rob made his way back to the center of the chamber via the control terminal as Gobi disabled the smoke dispensing arrow and Spray&wipe (having recovered from his momentary lapse) and Viktor rejoined the rest of the troop.
Rob explained that Tyrintino and his two right hand men had fled into the locked chamber and were refusing to respond. Realizing their progression would be halted if they did not acquisition Tyrintino’s last key Gobi attempted a few mocking taunts but to no avail. However, conversation soon turned to a discussion of what to do with the two surviving women. Having been treated for her injury and her condition stabilized by Viktor’s quick thinking and ever-trusty can of quick-clot, Mercedes words resonated with Gobi and he had fallen under her sway. While Viktor had formed a reluctant but similar kinship with the easily frightened Natasha.
Unsure how to advance, the troop spent some of their time interrogating the girls to learn that Tyrintino was a powerful psychic who had supposedly rescued them from the violence of the labyrinth in exchange for his protection. He would provide them with safety and shelter, in exchange for their aid in dealing with any new players running the gauntlet. However, the conversation was soon broken and deviated back to the recovery of the key. If Tyrintino was as self-absorbed as he appeared to be and did not value the lives of these women beyond their own, they would not prove to be valuable hostages and the idea of such a proposal sent a deep and unnatural feeling of aversion surging through Gobi’s mind. However, it would ultimately be Spray&wipe whose out of the box thinking would lure the men from hiding when he proposed to Gobi that they reveal the nature of the photo. Unwilling to have these matters revealed (for whatever reason that might have been), the crime boss who had been observing the troop and eves dropping on their conversation via the camera system opened the doors and re-engaged in battle.
Unwilling to risk Natasha to further harm, Viktor sprang into action and rushed the young woman back out of the chamber before the red door closed and sealed the battle. Likewise, driven by a strong sense of empathy and kinship like he had never before experienced in his life, Gobi threw himself between Mercedes and the line of fire as Tyrintino’s two men opened fire on the heroes.
The following battle was long and brutal, with the troop quickly discovering that Tyrintino’s two right hand men had similar devices in their palm of their hands that allowed them to endure tremendous amounts of damage almost on par with Rob himself. However, despite their best efforts and Tyrintino’s #1 absorbing the palm device of his fallen companion, the troop were eventually able to overpower them, suffering only moderate damage. Following which, the accumulated stress from the loss of all he had built up over the years and Gobi’s taunt “Whats the matter half-man? Did the train take your balls too?” drove Tyrintino in a blind rage. Although he was able to hold off the troop single highhandedly for 15-30 seconds, disable the bio-armor’s legs and inflict considerable damage to the already weakened Bio-Armor. Ultimately, he would be blown from the air when Spray&wipe used two sticks of recovered dynamite to destroy the psychic’s wheelchair, effectively disabling his telekinetic flight. Prone and only able to crawl, the frenzied Tyrintino continued to fight, crawling towards Gobi and clicking his BigBore Shotgun furiously despite having long expended the last of his ammunition.
Ultimately, broken and realizing that his telekinesis barrier wasn’t going to hold up against the super-humans, fear, desperation and despair overtook Tyrintino but like a cornered rat fighting a cat he bitterly continued to fight until he could no longer refuse their derision. What they were saying was true. He could not defeat them. He had lost. The last of his telekinetic shell tumbling to the ground in broken shards and fading from sight, Tyrintino finally admitted defeat and relinquished the Yellow Keycard which he had kept cleverly hidden within the wound on high upper right thigh. It was at this point that Tyrintino realized that the troops previous claims that the girls had been killed were lies and in actuality they had betrayed him for their new companions, who even in silence were able to convey their disappointment and disdain for their former leader.
However, rather than killing him the troop drilled the broken man for more information. Where they learned some of the other locations and individuals within labyrinth, such as Tristayne Trestikova (Green Key Master) and some mutant experiment left over from “when the Old Man ran the place” called Brain Drain (White Key Master). In addition to a few rudimentary things about the labyrinth and its bizarre makeup and temporal phenomena the troop also learned that the facility had originally been run by a lunatic who had ordered promised the Key Masters the ability to retain their consciousness and memories so long as they remained in possession of one of the keycards and that the ownership of the labyrinth had changed hands to the woman on the monitor, albeit she remained silent about the matter despite further inquiry by the players. Tyrintino went on to explain that he was a murderer and it was in his nature to betray others and informed the troop that he should not be trusted and it was in their best interests to kill him. However, they refused to accept this and Gobi went to great lengths to emphasis the importance of freewill and entrusted Tyrintino with the Blue Keycard and requested he accompany them on their quest. Appreciative for a chance of redemption despite his own lack of faith in himself, Tyrintino agreed.

3 stars
5 stars. It is no longer fresh in my memory but I am pretty sure I had a great time.
5 stars for me. It was a massive relief to finally get some good information and direction as to where to go and what to do and there was a lot of good roleplaying going on (even if tensions did get a little high once again).
5 stars, combat was great, role play was great. winning
