Rifts®: Megaversal Highway™
Type of Dimension: Infinite Dimension.
Primary Dimensional Medium: An infinite charred forest consisting of impossibly large trees with roots that are brimming with embers and hot coals like a recently stoked bellows.
Secondary Dimensional Medium: Death, the land is plastered with remains of the dead.
Density of Dimensional Fabric: Permeable, no bonuses to teleport or rift to or within this location.
Magic Level: Low magic energy. Magic works in Menione but is weak; spell potency (range, damage, duration, etc.) is reduced by half. However, psionics are at full strength. Unlike the many of the dimensions it is connected to, Menione is considered an S.D.C. dimension.
Dimensional Energy Matrix: Neutral, no outside technology functions here, not even from a world with a universal charge.
The Flow of Time: Normal time flow. Time flows at the same rate of Rifts Earth.
Dimensional Quirks: Dying Dimension, Fire and Water elements are reversed and Multi-Rift (Fluctuating rifts are nestled in the roots of the massive dying tree).
Menione is a vast ghostly realm made up of a number of ash-grey trees called “Nigu” that house within their roots roiling rifts that lead to other dimensions. The exact locations of the rifts fluctuates randomly, marking each shift by releasing a burst of firefly-like sparks. The Menione is an unpleasant dimension, where the elements of fire and water are reversed, meaning that on occasion it rains fire and it is impossible to create water through the friction of rubbing two sticks together. The most common inhabitants of Menione are small balloon-like demons with animal-like intelligence. These sinister creatures (called Delu) travel through the flaming portals to alien worlds and lost abduct children, which they then transform into other Delu through a transformative ritual. There are no known settlements or civilizations within Menione, although the forces of Hades are sometimes seen patrolling the region.
The air is Menione is breathable but filled with ash and soot, so long exposure can be very unhealthy.
