Ali
Although he has not had a dazzling political career in the public eye, Ali is one of Lemurias oldest and most successful politicians. When he learned rumors that against his own better judgement Lemuria would be gradually revealing itself to the surface world Ali realized that the role of ambassador to the surface dwellers would need to be handled very delicately and it was not a responsibility he could trust to another. Although there were men and women more experienced and qualified than he in public relations, he cashed in a lot of old favors and spent countless hours lobbying for the position and his efforts were eventually rewarded.
Although Ali and Magni have have butted heads in the political arena in the past and Ali always came out looking worse for it, he considers Gobi to be a promising young Lemurian and believes his connection to the surface dwellers and Tritonia will prove invaluable in helping bring enlightenment from Lemuria to the primitive savages that inhabit the surface. In the meantime, he quietly bides his times and runs damage control.

Motivation: Slowly indoctrinate the surface world into Lemurian culture starting with Tritonia.
Disposition: Ali, although well-meaning, is an insidiously manipulative Lemurian veiling his true self behind a the facade of clumsy incompetence. He carefully chooses his moments to speak and is sure to only say enough so that whoever he is speaking to realizes it is in their own best interests to do as he wishes without him ever needing to ask. He often orchestrates events and conversations so that those in his company recommend courses of action or ideas that are in his own best interests and those of Lemuria. He then praises these individuals for their brilliance, feigning envy and/or admiration of their talent and swift thinking.

Appearance: After hours in the privacy of his own home or when entertaining fellow Lemurians, Ali typically wears traditional loose fitting Lemurian garb, mostly white silk. When in the company of other high-ranking Lemurian officials, the delegate always wears a pair of glasses to denote a weakness or inferiority that is not common in his species. When entertaining humans or when at the Embassy in Tritonia (which is most of the time), Ali tends to wear dull-brown clothes designed in the fashion of the locals to help put them at ease and to help remind the Tritonian people of the commonality between their two peoples. In this “costume”, Ali is a fumbling politician that occasionally stutters and is sometimes seen with an Eagle which he proudly touts as a Pre-Rifts symbol of Freedom and Liberty.
