El Chico

El Chico is a remote Mexican village that has managed to survive Vampiric attack by relying on an impressive city-wide sprinkler system and by paying regular tribute to a nearby Larhold Barbarian Tribe. The small community believe the region takes its name from the cheerful god that has supposedly watched over them and provided a bounty of harvest for their community since 1940. However, in truth the name has no connection to the restaurant, the presence of the Pre-Rifts restaurant chain in the community is nothing more than a coincidence.

It is a relatively small community that is used by the El Oculta in their drug smuggling operations. The crime rate in El Chico, like in many small remote places, is rather high. The city itself is protected by a small militia. A large number of its citizens recently abandoned the city in an attempt to flee across the Rio Grand and start new lives in the Americas. However, they found themselves predated by Chupacabra and wild vampires. Among them was Alfonse Frank’s sister María and her husband Jose. Calling upon aid from her little brother and his friends the people were saved but at the cost of Jose’s life. Consequently, the small group returned to El Chico and still live there to this day.
