Eli

“Lighten up Gobi, she thought it over but couldn’t see any immediate problems with it. Chalk it up to her inner slut emerging, we both know she’s never been able control that little bitch… I was probably doing you a favor.”

Eli is a vegan Lemurian who considers himself something of a “revolutionary” but is in actuality rather mediocre by most accounts. This young Lemurian believes he is entitled to special treatment despite never having accomplished much and being considered something of a disappointment by his parents. Eli never really applied himself during his studies and spent much of his childhood exploring remote islands and playing hookey.

During his teenage years Eli found he got a lot of attention as a “rebel” and established his identity by fighting against the commonly accepted Lemurian norms. This anarchistic attitude made him rather popular with the ladies but he lacked the depth of character and self control to maintain a healthy long-term relationship, frequently cheating on his spouse. It was also during this time that Eli noticed Gobi’s success and grew to deeply resent and envy him, something that was only made worse by just how much Eli’s parents admired the young up-and-coming Lemurian. Thereafter it was not long before he learned that as great as his childhood friend was, the girls that he dated always seemed easy enough to persuade or trick into cheating. This made Eli feel better about himself, especially when Gobi forgave him, again, and again, and again… crediting their infidelity to a weakness of the female gender.

For the most part Eli is unaware of the Zenith Day Project and his role in it, as his parents are hoping that he will grow out of his rebellious streak. However, they are the first to admit that although he has been something of a burden to them, the friends and allies he has made among the more youthful and spirited in Lemurian community could be a valuable asset to the Overseers and their goals in the future. For although Eli is shunned by most modern Lemurians, self-important fringers empathize with him and often share his picketed beliefs about animal rights and the long-standing social implications of concealing the existence of Lemuria from the surface dwellers.
